Hello, everyone! Welcome to the Storybook Club, Super Story Spotlight! In these spotlights features artist from veterans to new! Today we have Jasonwangart who will be a part of our spotlight for this week!

1. What is your name?, how old are you? And why did you join Storybook Club?
(My name is Jason. I joined Storybook Club to see the diverse styles and content that people are making in their storybook illustrations, and to share my own works too. I am 35 years old. I wish I had developed my artistic directions earlier - during my 20's I was unfortunately following others' expectations of me, but I hope my working hard now will make up for lost time and pay off!)

2. What are your goals on DeviantArt? Do you have goals or do you just do what you do for fun?
( I joined DeviantArt as part of my process of exploring what I want to do with art. It's a great way for me to see what artists around the world are doing! Of course I also want to share and promote my own works as well.)

3. Have you ever thought about getting your art published by someone? If so or not. Tell me why?
(Yes absolutely! I think I have some great ideas and good potential, but I realize that my portfolio is smaller than I would like, and also that my skills need further development. You may notice it has been several months since I've last posted. I have been working on improving my drawing and artistic techniques, and have also been working on the picturebook stories I want to try to publish as well. When my writing and my drawing reaches a higher level, I will submit my work to publishers to see if they are interested in publishing!)

4. What are your hobbies outside of Deviant Art?
(Outside of Deviant Art I like to be in nature. Trees, rivers, streams, mountains, lakes, shores, cliffs, plains, shrubs, flowers and more all make me feel good.)

5. Any advice do you want to give to the people in the group or some of the veterans in the group?
( Hmm... I'm not sure if I'm qualified to give advice, but I try to tell myself that, even though art is a risky occupation, it's important to try!)

6. (Post Your Favorite/Best Art Here!)
(My best piece so far is my latest drawing: jasonwangart.deviantart.com/ar…
. You can see how, between this one and the one before it, there is a big jump in quality. Things like lighting, anatomy, composition, space, modelling etc have all improved. I worked really hard on this one and, while I can see many places for improvement, I am proud of the results too! I am working on my next drawing, and I hope everything about it will be even better! If you'd like to support me, please 'like' my facebook page at www.facebook.com/jasonwangart/)

Wonderful! Make sure to give  Jason a follow or check out his art, leave criticism or just give him some love! I want to apologize on how long these spotlights are taking because as like everyone else. I am a very busy man, but I hope the patience was worth it! Until then, I'll see you next time!

Hello, everyone! Welcome to the Storybook Club, Super Story Spotlight! In these spotlights features artist from veterans to new! Today we have FrancescaDaSacco who will be a part of our spotlight for this week!

1. What is your name? how old are you? And why did you join Storybook Club?
(My name's Francesca Da Sacco, I'm 45 years old, and I joined the Storybook group when it was just a small group, 5 or 6 years ago.)

2. What are your goals on DeviantArt? Do you have goals or do you just do what you do for fun?
(My goals on Deviant Art were to get some visibility and to know other artists to create something similar to a cafe des artists.
Not simple goals, though. You have to create a very wide net of relationships to get visibility! Yet, to know artists is easier!
That is still my goal.)

3. Have you ever thought about getting your art published by someone? If so or not. Tell me why?
( I'm a freelancer, a comic artist and an illustrator for children's book. I've got several publications through the last ten years.
One of my longer series: the Heckerty series (www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_nos…)

4. What are your hobbies outside of Deviant Art?
(My hobbies are drawing (in every free moment in my life, though it is my job, it is my passion too), watching tv series, RolePlaying Games.)

5. Any advice do you want to give to the people in the group or some of the veterans in the group?
(There are so many interesting people here! You just have to leave comments on their submissions, asking questions, not just "great", "it's ok" and so on. "What your media are", "how did you get that idea"... Active comments :)
That's how a good group is, a connected group, where artists get feedback and learn things! :))

6.Post Your Favorite/Best Art Here!
( One of my faves is this one: Inverse World cover by FrancescaDaSacco)   and That's the cover for the Italian edition of a RPG handbook, Inverse World, something in between D&D and Avatar the last air bender.
Another fave, though old, is: It hurts by FrancescaDaSacco) Lately it is becoming more difficult to show some of my works on my DA page, because I often have to sign a non disclosure agreement ^^

That was an wonderful interview from Francesca! I hope she and everyone enjoyed the interview because I might be doing one next week or the week after depending my schedule. I hope people like the questions I asked and if you guys have the time to leave some criticsm on how to improve the interviews/spotlights! It would be a great way not to help the others, but the group as well! :D.

Make sure to check out francescadasacco.deviantart.co… homepage and check out her work and stories that she's writes!
Hello, everyone! It's Aj here and yes I changed my name to ToonzyIce (might change it back later). I just wanted to say Happy Easter to those who celebrate it! For those who don't. Have a good weekend :). As you guys know that 2-3 weeks ago I mentioned to you guys an idea about a Sunday Spotlight Feature, and some people comment saying they like the idea! I know I held it off, but it was because of my outside hobbies and work that I do that kept me from doing it for awhile now! But next week we'll have our first Sunday Spotlight Feature!

Other than that. I'll see you in the next update.
Hello everyone!

First of all thank you for being an active Group! We can work together to improve the quality of this Group, making it better and better!

And now, let's talk about a thorny issue.

In the last few years I've been running the Group, almost all by myself. Maybe you noticed there are no more initiative such contests and features, and a slow reply to submissions and requests to join in :)

Our founder :iconanne-o: disappeared since years and I don't know how I can contact her. Already tried via mail and via dA note with no results!
If anyone knows her or is in contact with her, please notify Anne I'm trying to contact her :)

The issue is that she still has some privileges as admin and there are many things I can't do without her. For example I can't promote another admin with the same privileges I got.
Nor I can accept affiliations from other groups, because we need her vote too.

dA cannot help at all, since she has an active account.

So I'm trying to menage the Group at my best, but there are things I can't do, both for lacking time and privileges :)

I'm writing this because I really do appreciate any help from members and storytellers!
I'll try to be as active as possible to approve any initiative, but feel free to suggest any ideas you got, to improve the Group and keep it alive.

Thank you!

Francesca
